Card Not Present (CNP) Fraud

With the rise of online shopping, fraudsters have found ways to steal card details without needing physical access to your card. CNP fraud occurs when stolen card information is used for unauthorized transactions on e-commerce websites.

Warning Signs:
  • Charges on your account from unfamiliar websites or merchants.
  • Receiving a fraud alert from your bank about a transaction you didn’t make.
  • A merchant contacts you about an order you didn’t place.

How to Stay Safe:
  • Only enter card details on secure websites (look for "https://" in the web address).
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on online shopping accounts for added security.
  • Use virtual card numbers or a separate credit card for online purchases to minimize risk.
